My name is Mohamed Mahmoud El-Shazly. I am the Head of Pharmaceutical Biology Department, Faculty of Pharmacy and Bioethanol, the German University in Cairo, Cairo, Egypt. I was graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, with a general grade excellent with honor in 2000. Following graduation, I pursued my postgraduate studies as a teaching and research assistant at the Department of Pharmacognosy at the same institute. After obtaining my postgraduate diploma, I traveled to Germany (Jacobs University Bremen, Bremen, Germany) to pursue my master and PhD studies. In 2006, I received my master’s degree in nanomolecular science, and I was offered a position at the same institute to complete my PhD focusing on the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and natural products. In 2009, I received my PhD and went back to Egypt to join my home institute as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain-Shams University. In 2011, I received an offer to work at the Graduate Institute of Natural Products, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I spent there 2.5 years working as a postdoctoral fellow conducting research in different fields including natural products isolation, structural elucidation, and determination of their biological activity. This postdoctoral experience has assisted me to polish my knowledge and experience through guiding master and PhD students in their research. In 2015, I was promoted to associate professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain-Shams University. In 2017, I joined the Faculty of Pharmacy and Bioethanol, the German University in Cairo.Additional aspects of my background:Four years of teaching experience as a teaching assistant, Five years of teaching experience as an assistant professor, Four years of teaching experience as an associate professor, Mentor for several undergraduate, master and PhD students Organized scientific and social events on the undergraduate as well as on the faculty members levels.

Matthew Reynolds develops and transfers technologies to increase productivity of wheat cropping systems worldwide, primarily focusing on less developed countries. At CIMMYT he’s helped create a new generation of advanced lines based on physiological breeding approaches to widen the wheat genepool, increase understanding of yield potential and adaptation of wheat to drought and heat stress, develop high throughput phenotyping methodologies and train other researchers. To further these goals, Reynold’s is developing global collaborations to tap into the expertise of plant scientists worldwide, such as the International Wheat Yield Partnership, and coordinates the formation of the Heat and Drought Wheat Improvement Consortium. He’s also leading the community of practice on crop modeling for the CGIAR Big Data platform. Reynolds has published widely in the area of crop physiology and genomics, and mentored graduate students through affiliations with universities worldwide.

Dr. Bluth practices clinical pathology. His expertise includes biomarker discovery and utility, transfusion medicine, artificial blood/blood alternatives, and translational medicine and commercialization. Dr. Bluth is specifically responsible for the transfusion service.

Dr. Bluth�s research interests covers a broad scope including immunology/inflammation, pancreatology, biomarker discovery, glycolipid based anti-inflammatory therapy, role of IgE in viral diseases and cancer, and blood derived stem cell propogation. Dr. Bluth is responsible for the education and training involved in the medical, basic science and translational research in the department. In addition to scholarly peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Bluth served as an Associate Editor of McPherson and Pincus: Henry�s Clinical Diagnosis and Management by Laboratory Methods (for 21st Ed and 22nd ed). Michel Bourin has held the esteemed position of Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Nantes since 1985. He completed his pharmacist and medical training at Tours University and went on to earn degrees in neuropsychopharmacology, clinical pharmacology, and general pharmacology in Paris. His psychiatric training was accomplished in Nantes. Since 1988, Professor Bourin has served as the Head of Research for Neurobiology of Anxiety and Depression. Additionally, he has been an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Edmonton (Alberta) since 1995 and a visiting Professor at the University of Craiova (Romania). He has been honored with the title of Doctor Hononoris Causa by the University of Tartu (Estonia) and the University of Craiova (Romania). Currently, he practices as a Psychiatrist in a center for mentally handicapped adults in Montredon, near Narbonne. Over the course of his career, Professor Bourin has made significant contributions to the field of psychopharmacology, having published over 300 original papers and more than 250 educational and review papers in both French and English.

Hailin Su is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University, USA. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree in Genetics from Ocean University of China in 2013, he promptly joined the Animal Breeding and Genetics group at Iowa State University. His research efforts are primarily focused on advancing genomic evaluation programs to enhance the genetic improvement of animal populations. Notably, he is involved in projects related to genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and genomic prediction, utilizing single-marker analysis, DNA sequence information, and haplotypes. Hailin is also skilled in imputation and phasing of genomic data obtained from genotyping panels with varying densities, along with estimating genetic parameters and variance components. In collaboration with the National Beef Cattle Evaluation Consortium (NBCEC) of the United States, he has successfully implemented genomic selection technology into genetic evaluation programs for several US beef cattle breeds, working with the American Hereford Association and American Simmental Association.

El-Abd obtained her Ph.D. degree from Liverpool University, the UK in 2002. She established the molecular biology unit in the medical technology center in Egypt and the faculty of science at the University of Hail (KSA). She held many leadership positions inside and outside Egypt. In 2010 she was classified as Number 59 among the top 100 health professionals. She published more than 30 research and has 80 Genank registries. El-Abd is an editor and reviewer in many international journals. She is a member of many professional national and international societies. She was awarded several national and international awards.

Natalia Raileanu is a scientist and researcher at The Institute of Genetics, Physiology, and Plant Protection, Moldova. Ph. D. project title (2008): Biological argumentation for application Trichogramma spp. for control Helicoverpa armigera Hb. on tomatoes and sweet corn. In present position: Head of Laboratory Integrated Protection of Plants, jointly hired by a leading private company in the production and application plant protection measurement in agricultural sectors. She was a participant in many national, international, and commercial projects in biological and agriculture specialty, such as plant protection, biological methods for plant protection, chemocommunication of insects, IPM. As such, she works in an industry-academia collaborative research scheme to develop cutting-edge technologies for sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Harifara Rabemanolontsoa is a scientist and researcher at Kyoto University, jointly hired by a leading Japanese company in the chemical, energy, and material sectors. She obtained her Ph.D. at Kyoto University in Energy Science completed her postdoc and then worked as an Assistant professor. I am a permenant researcher and academic staff on Molecular Microbiology at MuÄŸla University in Turkey. I have carrried out studies related to induction of resistance mechanisms of organisms using physiological and molecular parameters. My current studies are on host-microbe/ microbe- microbe interactions, molecular markers, biological control of pathogens, enhancing enzymatic properties of bioagents using bioinformatic database, protein chemistry/ proteomics besides investigations on genetic properties of pathogens using molecular parameters, gene tracking and resistance to antibiotics. I am also interested in bioinformatic tools, whole genome/RNA seq data analysis, protein-ligand/ -protein docking analysis, drug discovery related to molecular microbiology and molecular genetics.

His current projects have led to the development of cardiovascular implants using nanomaterials and stem cell technology, and the development of organs using tissue engineering and nanoparticles for detection and treatment of cancer. He has also developed a family of nanomaterials and nanocomposite polymers for a range of biomedical applications. He was awarded the top prize in the field for development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants in 2007 by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in the Life Sciences and Healthcare category. More recently (2011), he developed a lacrimal drainage conduit, vascular bypass graft, and trachea made from nanocomposite polymers and stem cells and delivered them from the laboratory directly to patients. In addition, he is also taking a further three products to clinical trials within the next three year, which include a coronary artery bypass graft in 2012, a transcatheter heart valve in 2013 (both funded by the Wellcome Trust), and a nerve conduit for nerve regeneration funded by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB).

Venkat Sharma, Ph.D. is the Dean and Professor of Biology, College of Science and Health at William Patterson University (WPU), Wayne, New Jersey 07470, since July 2017. Dean Sharma has over 31 years of teaching and research experience in Immunology, Nano-Immunology, Biochemistry of Leukemia, HIV-associated B-cell lymphomas, Biomedical Ethics and allied subjects. Dean Sharma has published extensively research papers, abstracts in research journals, and proceedings of various national and international conferences. . Dean Sharma continues to serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Complimentary and Alternate Medicine and has been the reviewer for several grant agencies and various research journals. He has also reviewed book chapters for Molecular Biology of the Gene, 5th Edition, by James D. Watson (Nobel Laureate) et al., and Fundamental & Applied Immunology. Environmental Biotechnology Understanding of antioxidation mechanism in plant cells Plant and Agriculture Biotechnology

Oscar is the Head of Flow Cytometry Unit at Centre for Genomic Regulation and Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain, since 2001, where coordinates the assistance, supervision and training of one of the most advanced flow cytometry platforms in Europe. The Unit assists, supervise and advise more than 300 users from around 120 research groups in Spain and Europe. He supports the use of most flow cytometry applications, develops and implements new ones under scientific community needs. He received his Ph.D in Biochemistry from Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain and he started to develop advanced Flow Cytometry applications during his first post-doc, at Cancer Research Institute (IRO) in Barcelona, Spain. Oscar has published relevant research papers in leading scientific journals, developing advanced Flow Cytometry methodologies and specific cell sorting. One of those was a relevant new methodological approach for hematopoietic stem cells detection and enumeration by Flow Cytometry with clinical implications. In 2012 he implemented flow karyotyping for chromosomes sorting and, currently is the unique Flow Cytometry Unit in Europe providing this special application as a service. Additionally, he recently combined this application with subsequent chromosome sequencing without amplification by using Oxford Nanopore technologies as a new methodology to assemble structurally very complex chromosomes. Currently, Oscar is focused in develop strategies to detect and isolate nanoparticles by Flow Cytometry. Recently, he has developed an approach for Single-Virus sorting for subsequent single-virus genomics. This methodology allows the possibility to explore the diversity of viruses in different ecosystems and to elucidate the global microbiome, in special, the global virosphere. He has also developed a new approach to identify and isolate Extracellular Vesicles (smaller than 100nm) by Flow Cytometry, to study cell communication and, based on Extracellular Vesicles’ cargo transfer, looking for biomarkers related with diseases. His Unit is becoming a reference site for advanced Flow Cytometry applications and sorting at the single-particle level. Oscar also participates, as membership, in alliances of excellence, as Core4life, an ”Excellence Alliance of Life Science Core Facilities in Europe”.

Dr. Neeru Sood is a Professor & Head of Biotechnology department at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. She holds a Ph.D. degree from The Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Born and bought up in a small town in Punjab, she completed her Bachelors and Master Degree from Punjabi University Patiala and her Doctorate in Plant Sciences from Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, one of the best agriculture universities. After completing her Ph.D she worked as a Biotechnologist (Tissue Culture) in R&D Center of a sugar cane industry, Punjab. She independently established & run a modern tissue culture laboratory funded by Punjab Govt. to promote Hi-Tech, agriculture in the state before joining Biological Sciences Group BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus Rajasthan in the year 2000. After her five years tenure as a lecturer she was deputed to BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. She has been instrumental in designing and also developing Biotechnology curriculum for BITS Pilani Dubai Campus since its inception in 2007. Over the years, she has taught several undergraduate and graduate level courses. In addition to teaching she had also held administrative position as Chief Warden Girls, Head of Department Biotechnology and Associate Dean of Academic Research. She has guided two Ph.D students and supervised several first degree projects, thesis & Dissertation in the area of plant biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, microbiology, nanotechnology and few other interdisciplinary areas. Dr. Sood has coordinated research work on 'Isolation and characterization of stress tolerant rhizobia strains & physiological and genetic basis of salinity response in cereals with International Center for Bio-saline Agriculture (ICBA), UAE and is currently guiding collaborative research project on Evaluating the therapeutic potential of marine from the coastal region of Dubai & Abu Dhabi. She has organized two international conferences and has published papers in reputed international and national journals and conferences & Newsletters.
